Institute for Education, recognized by NCTE, Bhubaneshwar, and
affiliated to Kolhan University, Chaibasa has addressed the challenges
of various aspects related to different departments of IFE by
meticulously aligning it with its goals, core values, and local context.
Various bodies and committees under the guidance of the principle, Dr.
Sweety Sinha, HOD and curriculum planning committee, design the
academic and co-curricular programs to meet the program learning
outcomes (PLOs) and course learning outcomes (CLOs). It has
modified its academic calendar for the course commencement and
examination scheduling. More value-added courses (Yoga, Beautician,
Candle making, Doll making, Spoken English and personality
development and basics of computer) were tailored to address the gaps
identified during curriculum mapping, while students were encouraged
to pursue Self Study Courses, from SWAYAM, Swayam Prabha
supported by mentoring facilities. Parents teacher meetings were
conducted and feedback was solicited from stakeholders including
students, teachers, heads of different departments and alumni.
The college has formed different committees/ cell like SC/ST cell,
Grievance redressal cell, Internal complaint cell, OBC cell, NSS cell,
Minority cell, Anti-ragging cell and Maintenance committee for the
smooth governance of the college. The institution has developed a
proficient faculty team comprising one Ph.D. holder which includes the
principal, Dr. Sweety Sinha and fifteen permanent faculties who have
pursued Masters in Education in various subjects and also actively
pursuing their Ph.D. degrees. The institution has developed students
ICT skills, engaging them in block creation, preparation of ICT based
learning resources and assessment practices. Students are engaged in
5E lesson plan preparation, teaching aids creation and community . engagement programs. They have been also encountered with peer
tutoring, co-operative learning strategies, national and international
seminars, workshops, trainings and brainstorming sessions.
Research practices have also been carried out by encouraging faculty
members to attend, present and publish papers in seminars, conferences
and journals. An acupressure workshop had been conducted along with
a two-day national seminar. Institute for Education is an academic
partner with JSOU and Sikkim Skill University. Arrangements have
been made for wormy composting, solar panels, rain water harvesting,
plantation (Saal, Mahgony). The Institution has signed a few linkages
with educational institutions and othersuccessful organizations, faculty
exchange, student exchange, internships and other outreach activities
like free tuition, summer camps, acknowledging transgender
community and engagement with socially backward and tribal
communities. It has made significant strides in technology
advancements with all classrooms being ICT enabled and also has a
rich library with seating capacity for fifty students and an extensive
collection of 3500 books including magazines and journals supported
by automated systems like LMS for efficient management.
